Psalm 2 v 8 ‘Ask of me and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession’.
As a church we have always felt a call to the nations and to date we have sent people to over 30 different countries, including India, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Zambia, South Africa are some of the African countries, Venezuela, France, Czech Republic, USA and many more.
During this last month alone Janice Smith has been ministering in Uganda, seeing tremendous fruit, Irvine Carcary has only just arrived back from Uganda after a 5 week visit, Andy Osborne has also returned from several visits this year to Sweden where he has been leading worship in various conferences that have been held. Clive is presently in India speaking in 3 different locations including Dehli, Bangalore and Lucknow where Tony Anthony has invited him to speak at his conference. Later this year, Simon, Philippa and Helen and myself will be running an Encounter Weekend with Paul Skelton in Malaga, Spain. We will be ministering to the International community there, (mainly the Brit expats) so we feel very excited to make new connections and relationships.
With most of these international connections, one of the key factors is that we have been able to develop relationships with churches and leaders, many of these people we have brought back to the UK to attend our conferences, be refreshed and impart some of the key values we love and uphold as a body.
Proverbs 11 v 25 ‘those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed’
We realize that not everyone will be able to travel on overseas missions, but one thing we are all able to do is pray and give. Over the last few years we have taken up special offerings, usually 3 times a year, entitled Pray, Give, Go, where our aim has been to regularly give and offer some personal commitment towards tackling poverty in Ghana and India. In India the money has helped to pay for text books and resources for over 800 children in the school in Bangalore, pay for provisions to support the leper ministry and help pay the rent on the school building. Emanuel has used the money to buy a minibus to transport children and teachers at the school in Ghana as well as build the new school building.
Within the last year we have also introduced a child sponsorship program, to sponsor children in Bangalore from families with no means of paying for their education, usually the children would come from the nearby slum areas. So far, individuals in our church are sponsoring 50 children.
Overseas Mission Fund
Within the church we are aware there are a number of people who feel called to go on an overseas mission. However one of the major obstacles which would hinder this work is having the funding in place, as we all know flights are very expensive!
What we have set up this year is a mission fund which anyone can donate into. This is used to help people who feel led to go on a particular mission trip but maybe struggling to find the resources to go.
If you would like more information or you would like to give into this fund please contact
