A few stories and testimonies from Janice’s recent mission in Uganda
The action started from day one! During our journey from Entebbe to Fort Portal, a good five hours drive, Pat felt that we should stop the car by the side of the road immediately. As she stepped out to pray, Philip Lotimong and I noticed a young woman, she was carrying a baby on her back and gathering wood. Philip went over and started to chat and he casually mentioned that we were Christians on our way to a mission. Her face lit up, and with a smile breaking across her face she told him, “Oh, I have been waiting for someone to pray with me, I want to give my life to Christ Jesus!” So we prayed with her right there and then. God’s divine appointment or what?
People flooded into Wellsprings of New Life Church over three days and we had a wonderful time of worshipping God together. A number of people testified to having been healed, one lady stated that the large hernia which she had suffered with for over two decades, had completely disappeared from her body. Another lady had been suffering with a painful frozen shoulder, but after prayer she was able to move the arm and shoulder freely and all the pain had gone.
We held three days of impromptu meetings at Mustard Seed Church. Despite being given hardly any prior notice, there were over a hundred people on the first day. I can only describe these meetings as being a sovereign move of God, many were overcome by the presence of God as they worshipped, some had visions of Jesus, and many were healed. One lady was almost blind and could not walk well, as she had a deformed foot. This also meant that she was unable to wear shoes and so she was accustomed to walking barefoot. During the meeting her sight was fully restored and also the foot, which turned inwards, was now completely normal. The next day she proudly came wearing shoes, testifying that Jesus had healed her. The biggest thrill for me though, is hearing that the move still continues and that the church says that they really experienced a fresh encounter with Jesus, and have a renewed desire to worship.
