Here at Fathers House we have a large, vibrant and diverse group of young people who are daily growing and maturing in their individual walks with the Lord and, as a church, we have always sought to encourage, mentor and develop this in an atmosphere which is full of fun, friendship and the Holy Spirit! This group is called Impact!
The group has been led by some amazing teams of dedicated people over the years and most recently by Beth and Louis Meseg. We have really appreciated Beth and Louis’ input with the youth over the last couple of years and wish them well as they move on to new and exciting ventures!
The story continues however with a new team of leaders who have taken up the mantle since September!……….
Impact youth – Autumn 2013
A bit of history to get this going! We (that’s Helen, Andrew, Philippa, Jo, Matt, Jack, and Rachel ) got together over the Summer (seems ages ago now I know!) as we had all expressed or felt a nudge from God to get involved with the youth in some way. We chatted through our hearts passions for the young people in our church, and as much as we expected for it to flow between us, it was refreshingly exciting that we had a unified vision and that excitement grew as we stepped out to become the new impact youth team from the end of September 2013.
To get alongside the vision and be a part of this crucial time of life our young people have to face, here’s a snapshot of what’s going on this season….
We believe that through friendship (the kind of friends that you can share your dreams with so they can champion you on), teaching, prophecy, worship, having fun together and weekends away, we can help the youth to grow and have ever open hearts, so that they can know and learn how to receive Gods love regularly, and have a hunger to move on in their journey with Him.
With our regularly scheduled worship and the getting into the Word nights (during which we are covering many aspects of the kingdom of God) we are providing a mix of main stage speakers and in contrast also having regular small groups that are age friendly. We believe that this, mixed with different styles of worship and different venues to worship in, we will help them to become who God brought them into this world to be.
Our long term heart is that the time they spend at impact youth will set them up for when its time to move on and that they will continue in what they have learned and have become convinced of. We want each one to have the hearts of sons and daughters and to know this deeply, in their very core as they journey from the dreams they heard God whisper into their hearts as young people, to the fulfilment of their destiny.
In short if they know God is for them, day and night, all the time, through thick and thin, stumbling or not, and that they are deeply loved, totally accepted, very enjoyed, highly favoured and that we are behind them, then we have done what we are setting out as a team to do!
