From Friday 7th March to Sunday 9th March The Exchange, in Sturminster Newton, will be alive to the sound of music once again as Christians from around the South West meet together for a weekend of creative worship. There will be singing, painting, drawing, song-writing and sewing, amongst other things, at the ‘Created to Worship’ conference.

Last years conference was a huge success with over 170 people attending from as far afield as Torquay, Southampton and Bristol.

The aim of the event is to provide Believers with the space they need to find time with God, in the hustle and bustle of life.  To worship together as a community, regardless of our church background, (or lack of it!), and to have some really exciting and extravagant times of praise and worship.  It will also provide an opportunity to reawaken creative gifting as we practice and improve our artistic skills in the afternoon session.

If you are not arty, don’t worry!  There will be some times of teaching and encouragement throughout the weekend and the opportunity to just rest and “Be still”.

The weekend kicks off with a meeting on Friday evening at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm for registration) with sessions on Saturday at 10.30am, 2.30pm and 7.30pm (doors open from 9.30 for registration) Then we will finish off the weekend with a session on Sunday morning at 10am. As before there will be tea, coffee and delicious cakes available throughout the weekend.

Created to Worship is free of charge for children (8-18 years old) but there will be a small charge of £5 for adults and this covers the whole weekend. Visitors should register via Eventbrite.com, (Search for Created to Worship – Dorset, Sturminster Newton.) If you have any queries, call 07828 270984. Registering will ensure your place, but please do not feel that you have to be at every session. Sturminster Newton has some delightful scenery, cafés and shops, and we would love you to enjoy them all during your visit.

You will be given a wristband when you sign in on Friday or Saturday and this will entitle you to discounts and offers at shops and cafes throughout Sturminster Newton. Unfortunately we are unable to offer creche facilities for under 8’s, but children of all ages are welcome to join us at the Sunday morning meeting.

Created to Worship is being supported and hosted by ‘Fathers House, Sturminster’ (who meet at The Exchange each Sunday morning) with extra help from members of ‘Fathers House, Shaftesbury’ (also known as the Christian Centre), as well as people from other local churches.

So what do you need to do if you want to come and join us?  First of all, register at Eventbrite.  Then, just bring a packed lunch, or some pennies for a spot of lunch in the town, bring your favourite art and textiles materials plus a little extra to share with someone new to this stuff, your singing voice and/or an instrument, if you wish to try out the songwriting workshop.  We look forward to meeting you!
