With only a couple weeks to go until the launch of Open House, at Fathers House, we had a great day of training on Tuesday 14th – with lots of information, fun and even role play (!) as well as encouragement, testimony and the whole thing covered in prayer.

It was so nice to meet with people from other churches in the town, who are going to be involved with us, and to feel that we were all part of one big team.

Open House will be an amazing opportunity to share love with the community that we live in by helping to meet some of their practical needs – we will be offering free Housing and Benefits advice, a Job Club, help with Budgeting and access to Emergency Aid and Food Bank. But of course we know that it is not just about practical help and that is why we have a wonderful Welcome Team who will make everyone who steps through the door of Fathers House on a Tuesday feel loved, valued and welcomed.

So, we know what our roles are, we’ve been trained and now we’re waiting, with a little trepidation, but much excitement for our launch on Tuesday 5th May!

If you would like to be involved in some way, there are still opportunities to do this. We would love to be able to offer scrummy cakes to our clients and still need to raise money for Emergency aid parcels to give to families in need! If anyone is able to help in this way please contact Helen Croud on helen.croud@fathershouseshaftesbury.co.uk)

Thank you everyone for your continued support and prayers!
