As Christians are we ever in danger of gossiping the devils strategy? I would be the first to agree that there are many terrible things going on in this country and the world at this moment. The devils time is short and he is pulling out all the stops!
He is attacking identity, individuals, family, non-Christians, Christians, parents and children. He is attacking all levels of institutions, government and churches; and many nations. There is a tremendous need for prayer!
However, are we as Christians meant to be talking in great detail about what he is doing in this place and that, to that person and the other? Or, is this maybe giving too much attention to the enemy?
We know that ‘the power of life and death lie in the tongue’. I have been shocked recently, a number of times, and wonder if we are ever in danger of gossiping the devils strategy, doing his work for him! I know I’ve done it!
In James 3 v 6 it says ‘likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body’ and goes on to say ‘Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark!’ It is so easy to hear of what the enemy is doing in one area and to immediately relate it to our own family, friends or somebody else we know of, and to speak it out. Is all this talk healthy, if it is just about what the enemy is doing?
In James 3 v 9 it says ‘With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father and with it we curse men who have been made in God’s likeness’ Every time we speak of someone in a bad place eg in an addiction, does that reinforce the time they will spend there? If instead we pray and declare that God can heal them and bring freedom to their life, does that start to work on breaking the chains around them?
I don’t know, but i think I/we should be more careful about all I/we say! I do not want to be responsible for gossiping the devils strategy, especially if in doing that it keeps and reinforces that persons time in bondage.
On Friday 18th August, in the Sanctuary, we prayed and made declarations concerning healing. Consequently God released His angels, one for each declaration, and they took them to Heaven and came back with the answers. They sang over us and touched us. God’s strategy!
I want to help people get free not hinder them. in Psalm 107 v 20 it says ‘He sent forth His word and healed them’ Please think about this, I’ve certainly had to! Prayer is so, so important, and blessing so much more powerful and helpful than cursing.
Proverbs 13 v 3a says ‘He who guards his lips, guards his life’ Thank you Jesus, please help us with this lord.
